What fools!
“You fool!”
So I shout to the one kneeling
on the ground.
For in this wooden statue
refuge is found?
But watch me now, as I light a match.
I throw this “god” in the fire and watch
it burn to ash.
Now what shall it do, will it still save your soul?
For it shall do nothing but mix with the coal.
“You fool!”
So I shout at the one pledging
to a flag.
For is it nothing more than a
decorated rag?
But watch me now as I set this fabric aflame.
It will not notice your so called loyalty or recognize your war fame.
You believe in something false, for it cannot set you free.
It just blows in the wind and lays there soullessly.
So I shout to the one kneeling
on the ground.
